Bell Crew Pro Moto Helmet
Question:

Is the Bell Crew Pro Moto Crew Helmet Snell SA rated and is the carbon-X lining comperable to a nomex lining?
Answer:

1.  The Bell Crew Pro Moto helmet is not SA rated, nor M rated.  In general, crew helmets are rarely rated due to the fact that the wearer does not need the added protection of those ratings.  Also, as a result, crew helmets are much less expensive than M/SA rated helmets.  M2005 rated helmets will be the next step up without reaching fire-retardancy.  SA2005 rated helmets are the top-of-the-line and are fire-retardant.  If you are looking for a Bell SA rated helmet, I suggest you take a look at the following link:

If the Bell SA helmets are a bit pricey for you, take a look at the following link for G-Force SA2005 rated helmets:

2.  Nomex is a flame-resistant material fibrously applied in motorsport products.  Carbon-X on the other hand, is a flame-retardant material, also fibrously applied.  Carbon-X is a superior material to Nomex and thus more desirable to specific racers with higher performance demands.  Most amateur racers will be fine with Nomex, but many choose Carbon-X for it's higher performance.  Check out the link below for more info from Carbon-X's website:
